Narrated from Abu Hurairah R.A he said, "Rasulullah Sallallah 'allaihi wassalam ordered those who were chosen for a war, led by Ashim bin Thabit, grandfather of Ashim bin Umar bin Al-Khathab. They departed, when they arrived in the area between Usfan and Makkah they stopped at a village of the Hudzail tribe who were commonly referred to as Bani Lihyan.

Then the Bani Lihyan followed them from behind by sending about 100 arrow experts. They spied on the messenger of the Prophet. Until when they reached the place where the Messenger of Allah rested, they also managed to find leftovers in the form of date seeds, provisions for the journey from Medina. They said, 'this is the Yastrib seed, they are really following in their footsteps so they can catch up.

Ashim felt that his entourage was followed by Bani Lihyan, then they took refuge in a hill. The Bani Lihyan also arrived at the hill, surrounded them and said, 'We will not kill any of you.'
Ashim bin Thabit said, "I will not surrender to the unbelievers." Then said the prayer "O Allah, tell our condition to your Prophet Rasulullah Sallallah 'allaihi wassalam.'

The group of Bani Lihyan began to attack the Messenger of Allah and kill Asim along with seven other people with arrows, so that the Messenger of Allah left three people: Khubaib, Zaid and a man. They agreed to make a covenant. After making the agreement, the three of them went down from the hill. But the Bani Lihyan snatched their arrows and tied them with the bowstring.

The third man said, "This is the first betrayal." He was reluctant to compromise. Then they kept dragging him and asking for a compromise but he still refused. Then they killed him.
Then the group of Bani Hudzail took Khubaib and Zaid away, they sold both of them in Makkah, were Bani Harits bin Amir bin Naufal who bought Khubaib because Khubaib was the one who killed Al-Harith bin Amir in the battle of Badr. Now Khubaib became a prisoner of the Bani Al-Harith who had agreed to kill him.

One day, Khubaib borrowed a razor blade from one of Al-Harith's daughters to shave his mustache, the girl borrowed it. The woman said, 'I was negligent with my son, so he crawled toward the Khibaib. Khubaib then carried him on his lap. As soon as I saw my son on his lap, I was shocked. Khubaib knew my shock. While Khubaib's right hand was holding a razor. '

Khubaib asked, 'Are you worried that I will kill your child? I can't possibly kill him, insha Allah. 'The woman said,' By Allah, I have never seen a prisoner as good as Khubaib. I actually saw Khubaib eating a grape from his hand even though his hands were shackled with iron, while in Mecca it was not the season for fruit. It is not that but the rizki bestowed by Allah on Khubaib. '

Then the Bani Al-Harith brought out the Khibaib from the haram land to kill him. Khubaib said, 'Give me the opportunity to pray two rak'ahs.' After praying Khubaib returned to them. Khubaib also said, 'By Allah if you don't accuse me of being afraid of death I will definitely increase my prayers.'

Khubaib was the first person to pray two rak'ahs before the execution of beheading. Then the khubaib indulged the prayer, 'O Allah, destroy them all,' then said the stanza:
"I do not care
When I was killed as a Muslim
Anywhere in my body (I'm stabbed)
Then my death is because of Allah too
And that too in the way of Allah,
And if he wills
He will bless the torn intestine '.

Then Uqbah the son of Harith appeared to kill Khubaib. After that the Quraish sent several people to look for evidence that Ashim bin Thabit had been killed in that incident, they also looked for pieces of Asim's body. Because Asim was the one who killed one of the Quraish officials during the Battle of Badr. But Allah protected Asim's body by sending a kind of flock of bees to protect Asim's body, so that the polytheists did not succeed in cutting the body of Asim's body at all.
